ORTON IS BACK!

WWE superstar Randy Orton is back in the ring after recovering from his back injury and he is back with a bang, it seems, as he has picked up where he left off having renewed his rivalry with Wade Barrett. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is extremely excited to be back in the ring after such a long time and he is looking forward to a very successful year in terms of victories and championship reigns. According to Orton, he has plenty of years left on his existing contract and he also insisted that he is not going anywhere at the moment or in the future. He also added that championship reigns and victories are a part of the life at the WWE and he also reiterated his desire to win the championship 15 more times.

Randy Orton, who is third generation WWE superstar, is already considered as a legend in terms of his achievements in the industry, at one time being the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in the history of the company and he has had numerous title reigns since then. Still only 31 years of age, Orton is in his prime in terms of his physical abilities and his fitness and if he can keep himself fit, he can go on for at least 10 more years without any trouble.

Orton has the chance to cement his legacy permanently in the industry, having already won the championship 9 times and having been the Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion on numerous occasions. However, according to some of the reports, the WWE brought back Randy Orton a bit too soon and that he needed a few more months off but Orton has moved to deny all those rumors, saying that he is fit and is ready to face the music.

Orton says the wrong things!

Randy Orton recently participated in a interview with 98KUPD, a radio station based in Phoenix. The interview turned out to be quite controversial and has raged up a storm in the world of WWE.

Randy Orton commented on fellow WWE wrestler Kelly Kelly and implied that she had slept with more than ten WWE wrestlers. This created a huge storm in WWE as such comments are very unwelcome and harmful for the image of wrestling.

According to one particular source, if the same comments were made by a mid-level wrestler or even if he made one third of the same comments then he would have been buried away from the WWE business. But Randy Orton got away with his insinuating comments because of his status and fan popularity. He is considered to be one of the three “big golden boys” of WWE. This double standard has been greatly criticized. Just because Randy Orton has fame, status, money and power, he could get away with his nasty comments. According to a WWE insider, if any other wrestler had made a comment then he would have either been suspended, or fined or fired completely. But since Randy Orton is one of the three “big golden boys” of WWE, the other two being John Cena and the Undertaker most probably, he could get away with it.

Apart from this comment, Randy Orton also criticized the management completely for hiring actresses to portray as his wife. He also tore into fellow wrestler The Rock. Thus he =, in one evening, made nasty comments about two of his fellow wrestlers and also criticized the wrestling management and still went about unpunished. WWE is a publicly traded company and it will be interesting to see what the above comments do to the reputation and the image of the company and the brand more importantly.
